Reviews

Inadvands Boring, over-political, tech fuzed mess
Griff Lees Very good movie overall, highly recommended. Most of the negative reviews don't have any merit and are all pollitically based. Give this movie a chance at least, and it might give you a different perspective.
Matho The biggest problem with this movie is it’s a little better than you think it might be, which somehow makes it worse. As in, it takes itself a bit too seriously, which makes most of the movie feel kind of dull.
Candida It is neither dumb nor smart enough to be fun, and spends way too much time with its boring human characters.
kaimynz The jokes fall flat, and the smart observations sound like they're being read off a cue card. Home Alone 4 has ruined all Home Alone franchise, with horrible actors, and ridiculous unbelievable scenes.
benjaminweber Let's start with one of the key problems here: Kevin McAllister (even though he looks nothing like the kid from the first two films) is not at home for the vast majority of the film, and he is never actually alone as the butler is around at all times. The film tries so hard to get around this by trying to convince the audience that the butler is actually an accomplice, that when he is revealed not to be an accomplice the entire plot self-destructs, with characters supposedly having done something they clearly didn't do, because they were on-screen at the time! Continuing on plot, there are several moments that just do not make sense. For instance, Kevin is routinely disciplined for doing something he didn't, in a house with a surveillance system. No one ever seems to consider this, they just tell him off or threaten him. Even when Kevin has actual evidence in his possession, he does nothing with it, simply accepting no one will believe him. In fact, in one case the absence of security footage would have revealed something was wrong almost immediately, not only clear Kevin of wrongdoing, but no one does anything. After all, a rational response would stop the plot from progressing! Aside from this, there is also the problem of the villains. Aside from the usual issue in a Home Alone film of, "Why aren't they in the hospital yet?", something this film doubles down on by having the two main antagonists show up at the house three days in a row, only to be booby-trapped three days in a row, this film decides there is a need for a secondary antagonist: the wicked would-be stepmother. This character is so poorly developed, and her malice appears so suddenly, that she seems to be more like a robot than a human by the end. A robot, pre-programmed to just move anything inconvenient to one side. This means that when the inevitable end of her getting her come-uppance arrives, it feels forced and somewhat cruel. In conclusion, this is a bad film. However, it is so nonsensical and the characters are so bizarrely written that it is still fun to watch, even if just to mock.

I saw this over a year ago, and I've forgotten most of it. The only thing I really remember about it was how excruciatingly atrocious it was. I can't believe the audacity they had to try to make this a continuation of the first two movies? Home Alone is one of my favorite movies of all time! This movie tried to defecate all over the first one. Why on earth did they need to bring the character of Kevin back? He's iconic! Mike Weinberg tries, but he's no match for Culkin. Even Marv is brought back with a different actor. There are no laughs, no entertainment, just headaches. If you have a heart, please don't make your kids watch this. DUD
Krechenkaari Klein I REGRET WATCHING THIS. AS A SINGLE ADULT DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS. WHAT A WASTE OF 1 HOUR, 20 MINUTES OF YOUR LIFE. This movie is not nearly as good as the other three (the third one I don't even consider part of the Home Alone series), and I don't even consider it a real movie. It's more of a joke than anything else. It's silly - I laughed at the pranks, but it lacks good continuity, good acting (though I'll admit the dad wasn't bad), and the ending is ridiculous. I can't believe someone thought this was done well enough to be a good, full-length movie. TV maybe, but that's about it. What a joke. To me it's just a collection of funny ideas woven together into a story. It's kind of slow with no real good plot. It's so unreal. I can see a 5 year old enjoying this, but for an older person it's sad that they spent their time with this. Most movies leave you with a sense of emotion after watching it, but NOTHING here. No emotion what-so-ever. I do not recommend this movie to the average person. It totally misses the mark with how movies are made. Go find something better to do unless you are absolutely bored with your life.
