CommentsXp Best movie ever!
InformationRap This is one of the few movies I've ever seen where the whole audience broke into spontaneous, loud applause a third of the way in.
Lela The tone of this movie is interesting -- the stakes are both dramatic and high, but it's balanced with a lot of fun, tongue and cheek dialogue.
lukem-52760 Part 3 is silly fun & pretty ridiculous lol it has really stupid characters that you want to die but it's ok fun but not one pf the best of the franchise but pretty damn good!!! Part 2 was Excellent & this what abit of a let down after that film but it still has some charm but the disco score is terrible lol bad music!!! A weird entry in a Great franchise that i love but still watchable & still a fun little slasher
skybrick736 Steve Miner continues to direct the Friday the 13th franchise and follows up with a box office hit Part II, which greatly surpassed his previous sequel Part II. Friday the 13th Part III sticks with the continuity of the first two films but also has to add the long unneeded setup that highlights the ending of the last film. Within ten to fifteen minutes of watching the new characters and hearing the dialogue, its obvious that the route the writers took was a more comic, campier style that wasn't present in Part II. The biggest problem however with Part III is the characters, the biker gang was really shoehorned for little reason but to die and there are a handful of annoying characters, especially David Katims's role. Friday the 13th Part III has some entertainment value to it, but when it boils down the quality there are definitely better options out there.
Julian R. White I just don't understand how after this many run ins with Jason, no one seems to realize that stabbing him in the leg will not render him helpless. It's the same thing over and over, the character stabs Jason, knocks him out, whatever, but never actually stops to think "Well it didn't work the last 754839587 times so maybe this time he's still alive". It's infuriating. I did like the addition of the criminal biker gang that gets involved, even if the black guy suddenly appearing in the barn later on in the film seemed to be a big lipped alligator moment. (No pun intended). Overall it was a relatively decent film, better than the first, but I would say not as good as the second. Finally however it does seem Jason has finally picked up his trademark hockey mask. That was a good turning point I guess. Well, guess it's time to watch the final chapter now.
Realrockerhalloween This Friday the 13th wasn't needed in my opinion. It wasn't original or any memorable scenes that stand out. It changes the formula a little bit by supplying Jason with a new mask and has him target a group of friends who decided to enjoy the outdoors for the weekend. The characters seemed more fleshed out with a comedian, an athlete, a princess and two hippies who look way older then anyone else in the group. How they met or if they were meant to be older then they look may never be known. It was the first to introduce a barn and gang members that will appear in different formats as the series progresses and does seem to be a staple even though it's the lamest of the bunch. Since the film was inspired by Halloween anyways they could've continued on from the second film and answered the unresolved questions it posed. But time for that has come and gone. Others may enjoy it, but it wasn't for me.
