AutCuddly Great movie! If you want to be entertained and have a few good laughs, see this movie. The music is also very good,
Frances Chung Through painfully honest and emotional moments, the movie becomes irresistibly relatable
Ashleigh Miller I have seen this film many times since it first came out and every single time I am entertained from beginning to the very end. With such a heartwarming film and one that leaves me smiling every single time I could not recommend this film enough!
mathmaniac I heard about this movie because it has Chris Pratt when he was a bit pudgier. I wanted to see for myself! While watching the movie, it occurred to me that the main character was thrust into a situation in which he experiences a lot of the bad parts of parenting that you can have when your child reaches adulthood. With none of the fun of seeing them develop and raising them through tougher but more manageable stages when they are growing. It also occurred to me that the main character is extremely lucky because no matter what he comes across as he meets the young adult offspring, he can't possibly be eaten up by guilt and worry because it's just plain impossible when you talk about the number of children he gave his seed to create! At one point, he is dealing with a disabled son and you know: he can only visit him, he can't financially provide for him, he can't advocate for him. His time is limited in parenting so many offspring. Add to this the total absence (I mean zero presence) of any mother to any of multitude. It beggars belief.I enjoyed the movie, however. I thought as I watched it that there's a real future in many men spreading many seeds far and wide, creating tribes. They wouldn't have to share any beliefs. They wouldn't have to have modifications to their bodies (like circumcision or tattoos) but they would just call themselves the 'Tribe of Orange' or 'Tribe of Zemo' or 'Tribe of Triple W' and meet for festivals, set up message boards, wear tee-shirts broadcasting their membership. It's the future! These tribes wouldn't share beliefs but they would be a reason to congregate, just for fun!And also (not mentioned in the movie) a way to identify each other so they wouldn't end up marrying each other. I ended up buying the director's original telling of this story in the film, 'Starbuck.' When I saw the trailer, I recognized at least half of the scenes as being frame-for-frame the same as the American adaptation. I wonder what it will be like to view this with a French setting, French language, French actors - the originals! There have been excellent French films horribly adapted to the American screen. I hope that is not the case with this movie. It's such a great story, though, that I sent the French 'Starbuck' to a friend who speaks French. She will enjoy it, never having seen the story in any language.
Harrison Tweed (Top Dawg) I though Delivery Man was a film about a pizza delivery guy! Nope, but this guy had many deliveries lol. I don't want to give anything away, especially to those who haven't read the summary or seen the trailer, but I'll say this... see it! Vince Vaughn is stellar in his role and he's both funny and heartwarming. He was meant to play this role. And his lawyer friend played by Chris Pratt was also cast perfectly. You have two funny guys in a film that has more substance than comedy, and in this case, it's a bonus, and thus a winner. It's a great story, written well and directed even better by Director Ken Scott. I really enjoyed this a lot more than I expected! It's an 8/10 from me
FilmBuff1994 Delivery Man is a great movie with a well developed plot and a great comedic cast. In reading the plot summary and even watching a trailer you would perceive this as a typical Vince Vaughn comedy, but that really is not the case. It's set up is certainly humorous and there is plenty of hilarious moments, but it is actually a meaningful comedy drama as we follow Vaughn discovering he has fathered 533 children through sperm donation. He takes the opportunity to meet some of these kids and turn their lives around, it is heartfelt and we manage to gain a connection with various different characters, even if they are only there for two scenes. I do think that the 533 children set up was a little too much. I feel they should have given the character a much smaller number and have him gaining a connection with all of them, taking out the court side of the story and making it more personal. The performances are stellar, with the cast being well able for both comedic and dramatic scenes. Vaughn and Cobie Smulders are the highlight for me, their scenes together are very realistic, particularly towards the end of the movie. It manages to balance out comedy and drama surprisingly well for a set up like this, it is laugh out loud funny at times, as well as sincere other times. Funny and well acted, Delivery Man is worth the watch for anyone looking for a good comedy or drama. An underachiever discovers he has fathered 533 children. Best Performance: Vince Vaughn
