Bluebell Alcock Ok... Let's be honest. It cannot be the best movie but is quite enjoyable. The movie has the potential to develop a great plot for future movies
Tayyab Torres Strong acting helps the film overcome an uncertain premise and create characters that hold our attention absolutely.
Portia Hilton Blistering performances.
cassimcdonald This looked to be a typical Lakeview Terrace kind of movie. Bad neighbor torments the new neighbors. This is beyond anything that I have ever seen. After watching, I found out that those in early screenings had physical reactions to this movie. I can tell you that I did. My family lives for horror movies. But this is not really a horror movie. You cannot unsee what this gives you. If you enjoy sick, twisted torture porn like Saw and Hostel, you may enjoy this. It is nothing that I have ever encountered before, and I do not want to encounter again. This is a case of "bad brain" on steroids. Supposedly based off of 2 true stories. I used to think that reality is worse than fiction. This may have changed my view on that.
HumanoidOfFlesh A young couple Bob and Wendi Peterson moves into a desolate neighborhood as a part of Bob's new job in the company called Zeecor. However their neighbor Adrian seems a little bit strange. He brings them a box of poisoned home-made chocolates as a welcoming gift. Soon the couple are spending most of their time on the toilet with a heavy diarrhea. After this poisoning attempt Bob and Wendi realize that something is very wrong with Adrian and tell him to leave them alone.Such unkind behavior of young couple makes Adrian furious and all hell breaks loose..."Neighborhood Watch" is a nasty and disturbing horror film that left me speechless. The cinematography is excellent as it captures perfectly the atmosphere of isolation and madness. The film is not as gory and disgusting as some people claim, but several scenes are truly sick and bizarre. We see Adrian masturbating by sticking his finger in a half-sewn hole in his stomach while stabbing himself in the testicles with a hypodermic needle or incredibly yucky self-taught surgery performed on Wendi. The main characters are well-developed,the direction by Graeme Whifler is excellent and the special effects are very realistic.Overall,"Neighborhood Watch" is a hauntingly morbid and upsetting indie horror flick that teaches us one thing:never take candy from a stranger.9 out of 10.
nufros This is one of the 5 worst movies I've ever rented. It is poorly written... the dialogue is absolutely horrible. Not to mention the plot (which lacks any real substance). We're supposed to believe that this couple moved across the country for the husband's "dream job" (which seems to be more of a nightmare... what kind of career ambitions does this guy even have?), and that the police would just ignore the couple's complaints because their psychotic neighbor just happened to be the son of a former mayor. Please. This movie reeks of cheezy implausibilities that make it more of a comedy than a "horror movie." (Like any couple would actually be that pathetic and unwilling to stick up for themselves.) The acting was also laughable. I found it far more difficult to force myself through some of the "normal" scenes of the couple's everyday life, than the 'gross' parts which I also found less than believable). And hat's off tho to the hubby's boss-lady for turning in the most whore-iffic performance of the film... was that walk supposed to be sexy? because it kinda made my d*** hurt. All in all, this movie was not worth the time or money put into watching it. And I'd have to give it a 10 on the "Suck-o-meter" (that is, it sucked so hard that it made my unborn child sh*t blood.)
Coventry It's pretty much unquestionable that "Neighborhood Watch" is a terrible and absolutely worthless movie but, just in case Graeme Whifler's only intention was to go beyond all the known boundaries of gore and sickness, it might be called a huge success after all. This is one messed up production and most of the film's footage simply cannot be categorized in terms of sickness as no horror movie has ever gone there before! This is different than the Italian cannibal-flicks or the Asian Manga-madness, as "Neighborhood Watch" features a realistic tone and revolves on existing issues like misanthropy, self-mutilation and pure psychological terror. The first half of the film is actually just as intense and unsettling as it is nauseating and this combination led me to believe that we'd come across THE most disturbing movie ever made. Whilfer totally loses his grip on the suspense near the end, however, with sub plots that go nowhere and the atmosphere that vanishes entirely. The premise of "Neighborhood Watch" is utterly simple but it works because I'm sure that everybody recognizes some of the basic story aspects like domestic disturbance, mobbing and social nonacceptance. Young newlyweds Wendi and Bob move into a ramshackle house owned by Bob's new employer and face problems with their neighbors right away. The elderly couple next door behaves very strangely but the real threat is formed by opposite neighbor Adrian Trumbell, who distributes poisoned candy as welcoming gifts... Trumbell definitely ranks among the vilest psychopaths in horror cinema history! While listening to tapes describing torture and unnecessary surgery in gross detail, he masturbates by sticking hypodermic needles in his scrotum and poking holes in his stomach with his finger! That's right! Pretty soon, Wendi and Bob become the target of Trumbell's unnameable lunacy and there's no one who can (or wants to) help them. This isn't anything like "Pacific Heights" or any other B-thriller in which some nut kills his/her neighbor's cat, but mean-spirited exploitation for people with a strong stomach only. Despite the often lack of horror experience or budget, the make-up effects and scenery are convincing and genuinely nauseating. According to Graeme Whifler, there are absolutely no taboos and even embarrassing stuff like diarrhea or close-up vomiting gets illustrated like it's the most common thing in the world. Nick Searcy, who briefly appeared in more classy projects like "Tigerland" and "One Hour Photo", is marvelous as the sick pervert but the rest of the cast is better left unmentioned. The total absence of continuity and decent choreography makes it hard to rate this movie any higher than 6 out of 10; but I'm doing it anyway since I've never been more disgusted by a movie in my entire life! That has got to be worth something, right? In case your most recent medical check-up contained no heart or nerves problems worth mentioning, you can consider seeing "Neighborhood Watch".
