Ceticultsot Beautiful, moving film.
Senteur As somebody who had not heard any of this before, it became a curious phenomenon to sit and watch a film and slowly have the realities begin to click into place.
Taha Avalos The best films of this genre always show a path and provide a takeaway for being a better person.
Juana what a terribly boring film. I'm sorry but this is absolutely not deserving of best picture and will be forgotten quickly. Entertaining and engaging cinema? No. Nothing performances with flat faces and mistaking silence for subtlety.
trashgang So strange that flicks with blockbuster names are already for sale for only 1 Euro, new I mean. Look at Cleaner, Ed Harris, Samuel L. Jackson and Eva Mendes to name a few. The flick itself isn't that bad at all but it lacks suspense and for a thriller that is of course the most important thing, isn't it?The story is a bit tame too and you have seen it all before and some things are really predictable but it's the performances that safe this flick. There's a lot of red stuff to spot and the flick starts off rather well with some black humour attached to it. Somehow you keep watching it and you want to know the what and who's but the red herring doesn't work out the way it should be. You know what the filmmakers want you to believe isn't what is happening. If you're coming home from a hard days work then this is exactly the kind of flick you want to see but if you want to use your brains to solve the case then it isn't.Gore 0,5/5 Nudity 0/5 Effects 2/5 Story 3/5 Comedy 0/5
ms-rldevlin Movies are still great even though they are 6 years old. If you have ever tried watching some movies from the early 90's or 80's you would wonder why in the heck did I watch that now. But I don't think this one would ever get old or out-dated. Could had a better twist of a motive though. Other than that, its great. It starts out in a narrative from Samuel Jackson's character and then ends with his daughter in the movie. Ties up the whole movie and reason why he changed careers and the why his career change turned out for the best for him. It does change your perception of the type of cleaners there are out in our society and what sort of services cleaning provides for families.
chiluvr1228 This movie started out quite good and had a different premise than most movies. Samuel L. Jackson is a "cleaner" who cleans up after crime scenes. After he does one job where a man was murdered, he realizes he forgot to return the key which was under the planter at the front door. When he returns to the house and knocks on the door a woman tells him to come in and it turns out she is having a surprise party for someone. She also has no idea what he is talking about and to cover, he says he must have the wrong address.Turns out the order to clean didn't really come from the police dept but from some unknown person. Sounds rather interesting doesn't it? Well it all goes down the tubes and after watching for an hour we turned it off to watch an Everybody Loves Raymond repeat. That's how boring it was. I rarely turn off a crime/mystery movie because I want to know "who did it". We figured out who it probably was but by that point we just didn't care.Perhaps it got better but from the reviews I read on here, it didn't.I give it a thumbs down - don't waste your time.
GManfred "Cleaner" is an OK picture that didn't need to be made and doesn't need to be seen. In the old days of Hollywood it would have been a serviceable 'B' picture and suffers from a suspect script with a weak ending. I often think writers start with a great idea for a film or a book, then can't figure out how to end it. I first had this thought years ago watching "Harvey" (1950).Interesting idea here is a cleaner of crime scenes gets a call for a job, does his work and then can't find out who called it in to him - and is accused of abetting a crime. Pretty good ,but peters out. Samuel L. Jackson is good, Ed Harris is better in a loopy role. Not essential but a passable time killer.
