Artivels Undescribable Perfection
Livestonth I am only giving this movie a 1 for the great cast, though I can't imagine what any of them were thinking. This movie was horrible
Kirandeep Yoder The joyful confection is coated in a sparkly gloss, bright enough to gleam from the darkest, most cynical corners.
Tobias Burrows It's easily one of the freshest, sharpest and most enjoyable films of this year.
bookworms4 Concerning the movie BAD SEED with Luke Wilson: It was a 6 out of ten on the one to ten scale. I could be wrong, as my attention might have strayed a bit on occasion, but I thought PRESTON destroyed a vcr and TV in the motel room and then LATER was seen viewing a MOVIE on the same TV and vcr? Maybe it was a different motel? And also: the caller ID the detective travelled with: I thought you could only get an ID if the phone itself had the PAID for service on it? I don't know any hotel that gives free caller ID.Not to mention: where did the crazed stalker find the time during his busy workday from the bakery to track Preston's every move? I wish I had a job like the people in all the LIFETIME movies. They call off when they want, don't show up when needed, and rarely lose their jobs.
blackisbeauty As far as such "psychological" whodunits go, this one had an OK story-line based on a realistic premise. Unfortunately, the acting was poor, and here I am particularly referring to Luke Wilson in the main role of Preston. He was never really convincing as the "cheated husband" out to avenge both his wife's murder AND the fact that he was cheated in the first place. He tried too hard, as I think someone else also pointed out in a previous comment. Dennis Farina was fair enough in his role as the private Dick (though clearly stereotyped), and overall I liked the way Norman Reedus played the Jonathan character (despite cozing up with somebody else's wife, he turned out to be not exactly a 100 per cent nasty person but actually an interesting character study in himself). Although having said that, there were a couple of things he did over the top ... like setting himself on fire, and walking around with the crucial video-tape in his pocket all along(!)
ajc899 Not too bad, not too good, this movie is decent. With the exception of Luke Wilson the acting was very good. Wilson just tries too hard to be a loser. It should be more natural. Just watch old video tapes of Jon Lovitz. The script was decent but there was not enough mystery involved, and at certain occaisons the movie goes over the top. For example, the scene where Norman Reedus lights himself on fire. Was that really necessary? I mean he had a gun with him, why not just blow your brains out? I guess they had some extra budget leftover. If you like mysteries and Wilson or Reedus see this flick.
AnnaBeth I am not sure why Luke Wilson chose to star in this film. He does an okay job. He looks tormented at the required points and hurt at others. As for Norman Reedus he plays "creepy" well and I found it nice to see him in such a part even though it is similar to his character in the movie Gossip. I think it's better to see another Wilson film than this one. Try Bottle Rocket or Home Fries. Overall, this movie was just okay. If anything see it for some nice Dennis Farrina moments.
