Suman Roberson It's a movie as timely as it is provocative and amazingly, for much of its running time, it is weirdly funny.
Quiet Muffin This movie tries so hard to be funny, yet it falls flat every time. Just another example of recycled ideas repackaged with women in an attempt to appeal to a certain audience.
Heavenly King Some of the reviews, down here, are totally retarded. I didn't know that stupid people have the right to write reviews on this site.Anyway, if any of you, smart guys, start to watch this cartoon, you will find out, eventually, that this TV series is very interesting, promising and adorable at some point. Personally, i watched it all in my language, and i loved it. It has great humour, smart plot, and amazing lines. However, I gave a 7 out of 10, for 3 reasons, and it surprises me that no one mentioned them. 1. It passes some feminist messages: They make the female characters look stronger and way smarter than male characters. Watch Abby and Bessy for example. Otis looks like a stupid, weak, and helpless little cow in contrast with them. Also, Abby can lift weight, but the pig can't. WTF? Who wrote the script? A woman? 2. Bessy insults everyone for no reason, and especially the male characters, and acts like she doesn't give a fk. That's what a man would do, and it's completely disgusting and inappropriate if a woman does that. IT'S JUST NOT RIGHT! Once again, did a woman write the script? 3. Vegeterian crap. In an episode, they make Freddy admit to be vegan, even though he really isn't. He admits he doesn't want to eat his best friend, Peck the chicken, even though he tried many times to eat him in a lot of episodes. The animals are not dumb like human beings. They eat their prays, and they don't go against the food chain, like humans. If they are carnivorous, like humans, they eat meat. If they are vegetarians, they don't. They can't be both, and they can't change their way of life and nature. So, it's twisted and weird, by nature, to watch a carnivores animal go vegan like in this show. Once again, animals are not dumb like humans.I have to say, though, that this cartoon is made mostly for young ages, even though most of their lines and plot are appropriate for all ages, cause they are funny, smart, and amazing, if you leave Bessy and Abby (in some cases) aside, of course.
j-jessie-weaver I loved "Barnyard: The Original Party Animals" when it first came out. It was a funny and cute movie with action and a lesson for kids who were too selfish to be responsible, "A strong man stands up for himself, a stronger man stands up for others." That obviously meant for you to look out for your friends instead of thinking of yourself. When you turn such a great movie into a television show, what could possibly go wrong? "Back at the Barnyard" is your pitiful answer. This show is so insipid and dumb, it makes Homer Simpson look smart. There is hardly any mention of Otis' lost father or Daisy and her calf, Ben. Most of the episodes consist, (I have seen a few), of the animals being stupid and messing around with the humans. We saw that once in the original film, Nickelodeon, why would you wanna make us see it again? One of the characters, Nora Beady, is a big example of "Back at the Barnyard's" cheesy and pointless jokes. I will admit that she was funny in "The Original Party Animals," but in this cartoon, she is so obsessed with trying to prove that Otis and his friends aren't normal, that it's just plain ridiculous. And, might I point out, what is the purpose of Abby's character? She was never in the film, so why did they replace Daisy with her? It's completely useless and deserves an explanation.Overall, "Back at the Barnyard" is a worthless cartoon that does nothing, but become terrible in every way possible. In my mind, there is only one "Barnyard," and that's the movie. All I have to say about this poor excuse for a cartoon is, thank goodness it is now gone.
bull-904-250226 This cartoon series is one of the zaniest and enjoyable out there. Most shows based on movies tend to be pale imitations, but the writers behind "Back at the Barnyard" series give it a silly yet entertaining life beyond the silver screen. There's lots of pop references (ranging from "The Dark Knight" to "Survivor" to "Star Trek" and humor that the grown-ups can enjoy, and enough oddball fun and jokes that the younger set can laugh at as well. Like a sophisticated sitcom, this show relies heavily on a strong ensemble effort, so it's carried by all major and minor characters. Not every episode is a laugh riot gem, but enough are that it'll grow on you.My kids and I miss seeing this show but are hoping they'll release all the episodes on DVD soon.
DaytonMetroSoccer My original review was mean. Yeah, this show is stupid. The farm animals do stuff when the farmer isn't looking. If you want something that might make you smile, watch the movie. The show has is moments. It has progressed with humor, but still cliché. Personally, I don't like the show or the movie much, but this is something you can watch if there really is "nothing on". Nothing special, that's why it doesn't play much. This isn't a show trying to be nominated for an Oscar, so just sit back and watch. Let loose and enjoy yourself. If you laughed, admit it. Just because the majority of the show may not make you laugh, don't be so negative. Think positve. If you laugh, at least say you did.
