El Mendigo I just finished watching this movie and I'm pretty surprised with all the low ratings. Sure it was a little confusing, but this was probably due to the fact that I could only watch this movie in french with french subtitles knowing very little french and, despite this, the only part of the movie I didn't really understand was the ending.I don't really have any complaints about the acting or anything. Some people were complaining that it was unrealistic the way he stole womens jewellery right off their neck without them noticing and sure it's "fake" and all, but it's a movie.I'm not really that much of a Lupin connoisseur so I can't really comment on how loyal it was to the books and such. I enjoyed the movie although it was a little bizarre and at times perhaps a little cheesy, but I still think this is worth watching.

Mezcal1111 To me it looks like the director wasn't really sure what kind of movie he wanted to shoot. Sometimes it has some comic bits in it, like Lupins 'comic strip' movements or some well rehearsed one-on-one fights. But then he must have had some doubts as to what line to follow, because he started to use bits of splatter movie style, Indiana Jones adventure-archeology, historic drama, family tragedy and so on...then put everything in a big blender and press the mortal button. Mortal because what comes out of it is a shapeless blob of a movie with a story that has no head and no tail, and on top of that it's awfully looong too. positive: some good actingBeware: save your money and time

Paolo B I just finished watching this on DVD (and a big telly) and I have to say that this was an excellent production, with very good acting. I watched this film dubbed in Italian and that allowed me to be totally absorbed in the film rather than trying to catch the subtitles at the same time as the fast moving action, because an action film is what we are talking about, not a period piece. It is a little far fetched at times but I guess it goes with the character but I thought Kristin Scott Thomas and Eva Green were excellent as usual and I was also impressed favourably by Romain Duris who played the main character and I didn't know. The music is also excellent and integral to the film. Lastly it contains some graphic violence so if you are very sensitive to blood be prepared. To sum things up, if you are looking for a serious period drama then maybe this is not for you but if you just want to be entertained then go for it, it's worth it.

leon chan I have kind of crashed on Eva Green after seen Casino Royale and Dreamers, thus i went to cinema yesterday to see her without knowing it was such a old movie(released in 2004).It was a Chinese version, and the translating script was so hard to concentrate on even i am a native Chinese!!! And the hero is so weird and no charm. Then Eva appears to be incredibly plain.Story went so slow, and i fell asleep as well, really wanted to leave but i was blocked by a kissing couple:( I regretted so much by choosing this nagging and poorly-designed "blockbuster". However, i am gonna recommend this movie to my best friends as a monkeyshine:) I have seen a lot of great movie recently, so this movie for me is wasting time!!!! I have to say, it sucks!!
