Platicsco Good story, Not enough for a whole film
Hayden Kane There is, somehow, an interesting story here, as well as some good acting. There are also some good scenes
Gary The movie's not perfect, but it sticks the landing of its message. It was engaging - thrilling at times - and I personally thought it was a great time.
Roxie The thing I enjoyed most about the film is the fact that it doesn't shy away from being a super-sized-cliche;
alonzoagain If you're familiar with The Asylum, you know their claim to fame is low budget Sci Fi and Horror. There is absolutely nothing plausible about this movie. They execute a space launch to a meteor within 48 hours. They send a rescue mission to an alien planet with 7 soldiers and a fireman. The Fireman kills more aliens with his ax than the entire army. If you're like me you watch Asylum movies for a laugh. Occasionally they come out with a gem. This is not one of those times. I would have to put this alongside Attack of the Killer Tomatoes in my collection of bad movies. I'd almost say it has bad movie cult potential, but that might be a stretch.
gpeltz A goofy movie, that changes it's direction every fifteen minutes or so. The plot is so convoluted that by three commercial breaks in, I still had no idea where the story was heading. Ah, at last; Alien Invasion. Spoiler alert ahead. This movie, Age of Tomorrow (2014) was Directed by James Kondelik and written by Jacob Cooney and Bill Hanstock. It seemed to borrow from lots of other sci fi movies, Armageddon,and Stargate come to mind, as does War of the Worlds.Here we have the Father, played by Mat Mercer, looking for his Daughter in jeopardy, Lindsay played by Taylor Coliee, they connect throughout the movie, to the point of parody. Dad needs to bring in an Army to rescue her, but ends up solo anyway. The plot spins valiantly out of control for the last reel. The Aliens, looked rubbery. We learn that an ax is more effective than alien blaster against aliens. The flying orbs was the best the cgi crew could do with a limited budget eh? An odd observation here; The spilling of blood was subliminally enhanced making it oddly out of place in the context of this movie.The Queen monster, just wanted to share a cup of tea, and reveal her plans to the captain, yep. Don't expect a logical place to stop and give it a rest. This one seems to have a difficult time, figuring out where it wants to end. Four out of Ten hokey Stars.
subxerogravity The movie is so out there how can you not enjoy it.It's like a homage to B-Sci-Fi movies of the 1950s, I'm not sure if that was the intention, but that was exactly what I got. The cheese was laid on so thick I'd need the cheesy ray guys used in the movie to cut through it.Obviously from the title is was made to be a Mockbuster of the Tom Cruse movie, Edge of Tomorrow (though the movie begins with a parody of Armageddon, with some Independence day mixed in-between). I guess in the rush to at least make the Blockbuster's release date, they did not bother to even make a movie that had any scientific merit (which you need in this day and age when everyone is using the Science they learned in 5th grade.)But overall, I enjoyed the cheese of this movie so much that I ignored the science fact that was not happening and just got in to the bad acting and the odd dramatic sequences that made the movie. since the movie was made by the great mock buster machine Asylum, I'm sure they didn't mean at all to be taken seriously, so I didn't and just had fun with it. You should too.
scottlindsay27 i enjoyed the movie immensely as it dealt with many everyday challenges we as a species have to endure, the holding of the axe during racy scenes was simply outstanding and even the likes of pitt, spacey or cruise must have been applauding the firm grip by the main fireman. The special effects may have been limited but the scene where they head towards the asteroid was on a par with nolan's latest galactic masterpiece and i thought the aliens where well dressed in primarks last summer discount fox cub selection, as for the space suits who wouldn't feel safe in those! overall many will hate but i guarantee if you watch this movie with like minded friends or turtles you'll have a ball, id recommend 2 bottles of jack daniels and a full pad of scorpion grade ebola acidic crack pills followed by a 90 minute snooze. x
