BootDigest Such a frustrating disappointment
Brainsbell The story-telling is good with flashbacks. The film is both funny and heartbreaking. You smile in a scene and get a soulcrushing revelation in the next.
Derry Herrera Not sure how, but this is easily one of the best movies all summer. Multiple levels of funny, never takes itself seriously, super colorful, and creative.
Kimball Exactly the movie you think it is, but not the movie you want it to be.
zvonnydamne She's a punk chick. He's a dumbo. Maybe in reverse, i don't know. They see each other at airport and trying to establish some sort of aural connection. Electricity is in the air and cost nothing. Then they got high in the sky and have intercourse with each other. That's the first five minutes of the movie and you can feel real romance. But it's not. What's the point when they act like stupid people? Is love stupid? Is life a embarrassment for the living? My eyes saw it and were in disbelief.First point is the first five minutes. Second is the next six and a half years these weirdos chasing each other while got successful businesses (selling diapers), failed relationships (in both ways their companions just saying "i'm leaving" without much consequences) and photo gallerys (chick doesn't know how to selfie). While chasing they pose naked, simulating choking and drive relentlessly while stuffing their nose with glasses (don't ask why). Peter Cetera's voice in the set.So is this "romance" is worth anybody's time? As main character's deaf brother said - "Life doesn't wait for you to get back on your feet." Don't fall in this movie's trap.
M MALIK i like romantic films and i also like Aston Kutcher he is a great entertainer but this is one of his films that had serious potential to be one of the best films ever made the characters were amazing but sadly the script did't do much justice.the plot of this film was going well but in middle something were important is missing what it is will explain it.the story is about oliver and Emily who meet and have fun the girl is funny and full of life but this boy is shy and one day he makes a vow to her that in six years he will be a rich and successful man, will be married to a great lady & have a great life now he gives his mothers number to Emily and tells her to call after 6 or 7 years later.now here is the mess guys see this 6 and seven years story this all went into trash when Emily calls oliver only 3 years after & they continue to meet and have sex too, what was disappointing that Emily changed a lot not only her hair she became a lot mature and oliver is still the same he is not married & never became a rich guy that he vowed to be in the future.the film would have became more interesting if they never crossed paths in gap of 6 years & oliver was changed like he was married & have kids etc & forgot Emily but you know this is Hollywood no tragic stories allowed.i am ranting because the way these characters were going and the actors put a lot of effort into it almost everything got wasted.even with the faulty script & flaws this film is not that bad it has its moments its got comedy, romance but most of all the chemistry between Aston Kutcher & Amanda Peet their performance is all you need to look out this film for.specially Amanda Peet she is so stunning plus a good actress too she reminds me a lot of Yancy Butler.i am not saying i did not enjoyed it yes i did but in the moments not the whole film because their sudden & surprising meets ruined pretty much all of it,the first 35 minutes of this film are epic rest of it is usual stuff.A Lot Like Love 2005 is like a burger with only cheese & no meat inside it my rating is 4/10.
punishmentpark I've seen this one a couple of times now, because there seems to be something genuine to it, even if it is basically quite simplistic. Kutcher didn't really convince me as much as he did before this time around, and some interactions between the two were just too childish, let alone funny.Still, I don't want to bash this one too much, because any romantic film that makes me want to try it again (and again) deserves a little credit, at the least. And I can't get enough of watching Amanda Peet on the (big) screen...The story is quite simple, their relationship isn't supposed to be as much, but... one can easily guess where all of this will be going, but this mix of lightheartedness and a fair sense of reality might be just about worthwhile to you. It was to me.I'll leave it at 6 out of 10 this time around.
Andreapworth Yeah, I've seen it more than a couple of times but it is still SO ENJOYABLE.Ashton gets to show his acting chops, as well as his singing ability and he and Amanda Peet have a great chemistry. So many cute and funny moments. Not "hah-hah" funny, but just really cute.Ashton's use of ASL is also good to watch - the interacting with Ty Giordano is great. Plus, the soundtrack is great. You think you know where it's going until a few cricks happen. And then the end, which is entirely satisfactory, helped along by 'Oliver's sister' shouting her favorite phrase at him, which helps break up the emotion of the ending. Rent it or see it. It's really a "feel good" movie.
