Moustroll Good movie but grossly overrated
Acensbart Excellent but underrated film
ThedevilChoose When a movie has you begging for it to end not even half way through it's pure crap. We've all seen this movie and this characters millions of times, nothing new in it. Don't waste your time.
Portia Hilton Blistering performances.
hongkong666 Famke Janssen is a very busy woman. Between X-Men, Taken and dozens of other movies, she found the time to star in this entertaining little Ghost Horror flick. In her role as Marnie she is absolutely convincing and it's always a please to see her impersonate all kinds of different roles. A brilliant actress! Also Bobby Cannavale as the partner of the deceased Mike does his best to make you dislike him by all means. The story was interesting and the movie well shot, although I was not totally convinced with the ghost effects they did on Mike. I think in the past we all have seen way more impressive ghosts than in this one, but it doesn't hurt the story much. If you can see past those little flaws, 100 Feet is a nice movie for Horror fans to watch on a cozy evening. Mainly because Janssen brought this movie to life. I liked it!
LeonLouisRicci This is one of those Engaging Stories that Disengages Viewers too many times asking Plot Questions and Character Behavior. It Compels than Dispels Disbelief so much that the Flow of the Film is Disrupted and that is Deadly for a Suspense/Thriller.It is a Yin/Yang of a Movie that has many things that are Intriguing, like the Shackled Wife being Shackled by Law Enforcement after being Beat-On by Her Abusive Husband. She is on House Arrest for Killing Her Spouse in Self Defense. Some things that Happen are just Stupid and some things are Impressive in a Scary Movie Way, but the CGI is Overused (especially in the rather bad ending) and one of the Weakest Elements, and this is a Big One, is the Inconsistent Ability of the Vengeful Ghost Entity. Sometime He is like a Super-Demon from Hell and Quickly in another Scene is Struggling to get the Job done.Overall, it is a Frustratingly Mediocre Movie that seems Sophomoric from a Seasoned Writer/Director at Home in this Element. It comes across Frequently as not to well thought out and the whole thing is a Wasted Opportunity that remains of interest only to the most Accepting of Genre Fans.
benegesserit20 This review contains spoiler, please do not read it before watching a movie. Or I should rather advise DO NOT watch this movie.I like those horrors the most where the horror part is integrated in a seemingly normal, realistic surrounding. In other words, I want these movies to make me believe that this could happen to anyone of us for 90 minutes. This requires in one hand good horror material and ghost stories are always good for this purpose. However, a consistent, realistic background story is also necessary. This movie fails in both.Let's start with the latter. This story is so unbelievable to begin with. Wife kills her abusive cop husband while defending herself she still gets into prison for years. Then she is abused again in the prison so she is taken home for a one-year house arrest. Well, I'm not even close to being a lawyer, but is that seriously possible? Whatever, she gets home and her late husband's ghost appears pretty soon. After thorough research (i.e. reading a single book)she tries to get rid of him. And then there's this horny kid she hooks up with, and the ex-partner of her husband who has nothing better to do than stalking her in 24/7. And some hidden money, and that priest, and that extremely cheesy ending with that ring. The ghost part isn't better either. It seems to be capable of whatever it wants, but it seems it doesn't really want anything in particular. The effects are quite lame for a movie from 2008. I really liked when the woman wanted to beat it up with a baseball bat. Oh, and when the blood started to stick on it...So making a long story short, this movie is an unpalatable, inconsistent, unreal thing, however by the end it made me have these incredulous fascination over the simple fact that this movie was actually done and is available worldwide. Seeing at the end that half of the crew is Hungarian made me feel even worse.
tdrish 100 Feet is the wrong movie to be watching at night time, trust me on this one. It is well written, has great acting, and great dialogue. Despite the tiresome amount of films that have gone in this direction, this one stands out from them all. I highly recommend this movie to anyone who dares to be frightened, because the probability of this scary flick freaking you to pieces is pretty high! A woman is let out early from prison, but at a high cost: She must reside in the same house that she murdered her husband in, who happened to be a violent cop. His partner happens to be the man who is more then anxious to put her back in prison, so he waits patiently in his car parked across the street, waiting for her to violate her probation. She has an ankle bracelet attached to her ankle (hence the name), and is instructed not to go past 100 feet of the house, or the alarm will go off. Goes off for longer then three minutes, and she's automatically going back to jail. Not too hard to do, right? HEH, the plot thickens. The house she's living in is possessed by a poltergeist, and it just happens to be the husband she killed in self defense. And he is powerful and angry as ever!!! Her survival skills must be put to play, however, what defense do you have against something that is not in human form? Can it even be stopped? Even if her probation officer believes her story that she is being violently stalked by her dead husband, how can he protect her from this savage entity? There are long, boring sequences, but bare with it, and trust me, the rewards come later. By the first half hour, she knows what is going on. The last half hour is when the really good stuff happens, and I'm talking...jump out of your skin, "Oh my God!", freaky , weird , crazy, messed up stuff. I'm not revealing too much, because it will spoil the story, and I sure do not want to spoil the ending. If you like your movies scary, you're in for a treat....which is long overdue these days. Fantastic film!
